Why I’m Participating in the Great Canadian Hike

There’s something magical about being on the Trail. The fresh air, the stillness of the trees, and the feeling of connection to nature and community. I’ve always turned to the outdoors for peace, health and perspective — and the Trans Canada Trail offers all that and more.

This fall, I’m joining the Great Canadian Hike, a nationwide challenge where people across Canada will hike, bike, paddle or roll and log their kilometres to collectively reach 30,000 kilometres in 30 days — the length of the Trail from coast to coast to coast.

From September 20 to October 19, I’ll be logging my kilometres and raising funds to help keep the Trail accessible, safe, and thriving — for everyone, now and for future generations.

You can sign up to participate, donate directly to my fundraising page, or share my campaign with your network to help spread the word.

Let’s be part of something great — together.

Pink Skies!

Thursday 16th Oct
Hardly Slept through the cold but somehow, simple sights like this make everything worth it! If i’ve learned one thing from camping and hiking, it’s that it can be hard work. Yet that hard work is so rewarding and feels negligible when I am faced with sites like these. It’s unattainable any other way. Today I camped in Fort Assiniboine, AB!

Took the Pooch for a Hike Today!

Tuesday 14th Oct
Hiking doesn’t always have to be about the views. Sometimes the solemn sounds of nature is enough to ease the mind into peace. The fall air and the sound of crunching leaves beneath my feet bring me to a sense of peace unmatched by anything in this world. It gives me so much freedom and comfort to let my mind wander and think whatever it wants to. On the other hand, it lets my brain turn off a little and just be at ease. Today I hiked in Elk Island National Park!

Flight Delay! — Short Hike with the Old Man!

Saturday 11th Oct
On my way to the airport to go back home, I got a notification that my flight is delayed 6 hours! To fill the newly apparent time on my hands, me and the old man decided to walk around mission creek in BC! Lookin for salmon, found only a few unfortunately. Yet, hearing the water along the creek, bends, and waterfalls was so relaxing.

Today I hiked Mission Creek in BC!

Hiking to Rocky Beaches!

Thursday 9th Oct
I’ve never felt more calm and at peace than I have being close to the water. Oceans, rivers, lakes, big or small. Nothing can top the sound of waves splashing against the rocky shoreline. And the air, oh the air. Just to feel the cool, fresh air around the water is priceless.

Today I hiked Paul’s Tomb in Kelowna!
