Why I’m Participating in the Great Canadian Hike

There’s something magical about being on the Trail. The fresh air, the stillness of the trees, and the feeling of connection to nature and community. I’ve always turned to the outdoors for peace, health and perspective — and the Trans Canada Trail offers all that and more.

This fall, I’m joining the Great Canadian Hike, a nationwide challenge where people across Canada will hike, bike, paddle or roll and log their kilometres to collectively reach 30,000 kilometres in 30 days — the length of the Trail from coast to coast to coast.

From September 20 to October 19, I’ll be logging my kilometres and raising funds to help keep the Trail accessible, safe, and thriving — for everyone, now and for future generations.

You can sign up to participate, donate directly to my fundraising page, or share my campaign with your network to help spread the word.

Let’s be part of something great — together.

Enjoy hike in nature 😊

Wednesday 8th Oct
There's something magical about stepping onto a trail and leaving the noise of everyday life behind. Hiking in nature offers more than just exercise—it's a chance to reconnect with the world around you and find a sense of peace that's hard to come by in our busy lives.
Whether you're walking through a forest where sunlight filters through the canopy, climbing a mountain path with breathtaking views, or strolling alongside a babbling creek, each hike brings its own rewards. The fresh air fills your lungs, the sounds of birds and rustling leaves create a natural soundtrack, and the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other becomes almost meditative.
You don't need to be an experienced mountaineer to enjoy hiking. Start with easy trails in your local area and gradually work your way up as you build confidence and stamina. Remember to wear comfortable shoes, bring plenty of water, and let someone know where you're going.
The best part? Every season offers something different. Spring brings wildflowers and new growth, summer provides lush greenery and long days, autumn paints the landscape in brilliant colors, and winter offers crisp air and peaceful solitude.
So lace up those hiking boots, grab a friend or embrace some solo time, and head out to explore. Nature is waiting, and the trail is calling. Your next adventure—and the joy it brings—is just a hike away! 🥾🌲
