Each company has their own guidelines on employee matching eligibility and how to submit information on your donation.
Step 1 is to check with your employer to find out if your workplace offers a gift-matching program.
Using the Benevity platform
Step-by-step guide
If your employer does not use Benevity, follow the simple steps below to set up your employee match!
1. Ask your HR or People and Culture team if your workplace offers a gift-matching program and how to complete your submission (this is often an internal form).2. Download your Great Canadian Hike donations receipts - these are automatically emaild to you.
3. Provide your employer with these easy payment options:
- Payment by credit card through the Trans Canada Trail website: https://tctrail.ca/waystogive/#donate
- Payable cheque to Trans Canada Trail, in Canadian Dollars ($CAD), sent to: Trans Canada Trail, 150 Elgin Street, 8th Fl, Suite 1053, Ottawa, ON, K2P 1L4
- An Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - contact us for details
4. Request a summary of your Great Canadian Hike activity through the contact form below and select ‘Donation Support’ (optional).
Trans Canada Trail will provide a business tax receipt to companies who submit employee matches, while Benevity arranges tax receipts directly from their platform.
