One great adventure,
three simple steps

How it works

From September 20 to October 19, we’re calling on people across the country to get active, log their progress and raise funds to help protect and maintain the world’s longest trail.

REGISTER

Registration is free and open to everyone! Sign up as an individual or start a team with friends, family, co-workers or your hiking group. You’ll get a customizable fundraising page where you can set a goal and share your progress.

Starting a team is a great way to stay motivated and make your impact even bigger. You can track your team’s progress together, plan group hikes, and celebrate your collective success.

Raise funds

Once you’re registered, share your fundraising page with your network to help protect and maintain the Trans Canada Trail. Every dollar you raise helps keep the Trail safe, accessible and connected for all.

The more you raise, the more chances you’ll have to win awesome prizes!

Need help? Our fundraising toolkit includes sample emails, social media posts and other tools to help you hit your goal.

Get active

Hike, bike, paddle or roll all activities count toward the Great Canadian Hike! From September 20 to October 19, you have 30 days to log as many kilometres as possible and you don’t have to be on the Trans Canada Trail to take part! You can log your activity anywhere from a back-country trail to a neighbourhood sidewalk.

Looking for a little competition? We’ll be sharing leaderboards from across the country when the Hike gets started.
