With the Great Canadian Hike coming up from September 20 to October 19, you may be wondering how to build kilometre logging into an already busy schedule. Here are some tips to get you moving, feeling good and crushing your kilometre goals.
Grab some Trail time on your commute
Opt for walking, cycling, rolling or jogging to and from work or school. Not only will you arrive at work fully energized, you’ll also be able to cross off exercise time without adding extra steps to your day. Got school- or daycare-aged kids? Those shorter trips with your kids twice a day for drop-off and pick-up can add up to dozens of kilometres over the month.

Walk the dog ... and yourself!
If you’ve got a four-legged furry family member, remember to clock your walks! Heading out a few times a day for 15 minutes or more adds up to a lot of steps covered. Whether you’re walking around the block, hitting your local Trail section or hiking for a couple of hours with your dog, it all counts.
