To be eligible for a distance-logged prize, you must log your kilometres by connecting one of our supported fitness apps (Fitbit, Garmin, Strava) to your profile.

Weekly leaderboard prizes

We’ll be awarding prizes for the most kilometres logged and most funds raised every week during the Great Canadian Hike (Sept. 20 to Oct. 19)! Weekly prizes will only be awarded to individual participants — but don’t worry, teams are eligible for grand prizes at the end of the challenge.

HOW to win:

It’s simple: be the week’s top fundraiser or cover the most distance in a given week! We'll have prizes for:

Top fundraiser
Most kilometres logged walking/hiking
Most kilometres logged running
Most kilometres logged cycling/rolling
Most kilometres logged paddling

We'll be announcing each week's winners on:

  • Sept. 29
  • Oct. 6
  • Oct. 13
  • Oct. 20

Grand Prizes

Once we hit Oct. 19 and all the kilometres are logged and donations are collected, the top teams and individuals will win the grand prizes!  

HOW to win:

Grand prizes will go to the individuals and teams who log the most kilometres and/or raise the most funds over the entire 2025 Great Canadian Hike. We’ll have prizes for:

Top fundraiser
logged walking/hiking (individual)
Most kilometres logged running (individual)
Most kilometres logged cycling/rolling (individual)
Most kilometres logged paddling (individual)
Top fundraising team
Most kilometres logged by a team (all activities combined)

Rules and regulations

Use the button below to find the full rules and regulations, but here are a few key things to keep in mind:

  • To be eligible for a distance-logged prize, you must log your kilometres by connecting one of our supported fitness apps (Fitbit, Strava, Garmin) to your profile. This is so we can verify the kilometres.
    • Team distance prize: all members of the winning team must log kilometres through one of the supported fitness apps.
  • Weekly prizes are awarded based on distances logged and funds raised during a given week. The weekly-prize time periods are:
    • 20 – 28, winner announced Sept. 29
    • 29 - Oct. 5, winner announced Oct. 6
    • 6 – 12, winner announced Oct. 13
    • 13 – 19, winner announced Oct. 20
  • Grand prizes are awarded based on distances logged and funds raised during the entirety of the 2025 Great Canadian Hike. Grand-prize time periods are:
    • Top individual fundraiser grand prize: July 14 – Oct. 19
    • Most kilometres logged by an individual (one prize for each activity) grand prize: Sept. 20 – Oct. 19.
    • Top fundraising team grand prize: July 14 - Oct. 19
    • Most kilometres logged by a team grand prize: Sept. 20 – Oct. 19
  • All prizes are only available to residents of Canada.
