Supporting Canada’s Trail

The Trans Canada Trail is not just a trail. It's a 30,000-kilometre network that connects people and communities from coast to coast to coast.

I’m excited to join the Great Canadian Hike, a nationwide challenge to hike, bike, paddle or roll in support of the Trail.

From September 1 to 30, I’ll be logging my kilometres, contributing to the national goal of 100,000 kilometres in 30 days, while raising funds to help keep the Trail accessible, safe, and thriving — for everyone, now and for future generations.

You can sign up to participate, donate directly to my fundraising page, or share my campaign with your network to help spread the word.

Let’s be part of something great — together.

When Your Mind Is Tired but Your Body Isn’t: A Reminder to Get Outside

Friday 28th Aug

Coming back from vacation, I had one of those weeks where “back to work” meant really back to my desk.

For a full week, I worked through emails, virtual meetings and my post-vacation to-do list. At the end of each day, I realized I had barely moved — some days, not even 2,000 steps.

Then something strange happened: I couldn’t sleep.

Usually, that means something is weighing on my mind. But life was good. Work was good.

And then it hit me: I was mentally tired, but I wasn’t physically tired.

The next morning, before opening my laptop, I walked 5 km.

What a difference. I felt more energized, my mood was better, and I slept incredibly well that night.

It was a simple reminder of how much getting outside and moving matters.

That’s one of the reasons I love the Great Canadian Hike.

Yes, it’s an opportunity to raise funds in support of an incredible Canadian trail system connecting communities across the country. But it can also be something much more personal: a reason to make time for yourself.

Time to step away from the screen.
Time to move your body.
Time to clear your head.
Time to get outside.

And it doesn’t have to be complicated. Walk around your neighbourhood. Hike a favourite trail. Explore somewhere new. Go 2 km or 20 km.

This September, I’ll be taking part in the Great Canadian Hike, and I hope you’ll join me.

Walk. Hike. Move. Explore. Do it your way — just make the time to get outside. 🍁🥾
