Trail Walk Events

Join us on the Trail! Throughout September our team is hosting guided trail walks in cities across Canada. These walks are a great opportunity to meet fellow trail lovers, log some extra kilometers towards your Great Canadian Hike goal, and connect with the Trans Canada Trail team to learn about trail projects in your area. Each guided walk is approximately 3 kilometers long, fully accessible and open to all ages and hiking abilities.

Free to attend, pre-registration recommended using the links below.

Create your own meetup

Let’s move Canada! The Great Canadian Hike is all about getting out on the Trail together. If you are part of a hiking, running, cycling, birding, dog walking club or volunteer for a local trail association, consider creating a team and planning a group meetup to log your kilometers. This is a great opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals and welcome new members to your group all while helping to support the Trans Canada Trail.

Tips for success:

  • Select a day and time when your group already regularly meets to make it easy for people to participate.
  • Plan a route in advance to make sure its achievable for your group and matches their level of fitness.
  • Create a team page on the Great Canadian Hike and invite everyone to join it.
  • Share your meetup plans in your community on bulletin boards and online community groups.

Important Terms & Conditions:

  • Organizers must comply with all local laws and regulations for hosting a public gathering and seek permits as required.
  • Community meetups are organized independently by local participants. While we're cheering you on, Trans Canada Trail doesn't organize, manage, or provide support for these events.
  • Organizers should avoid promoting their meetup as an official event or using Trans Canada Trail or Great Canadian Hike logos in a way that suggests Trans Canada Trail Involvement.
  • Trans Canada Trail takes no legal responsibility for community-led events.
